Lola Hair Routine

Babes,
I promised you a post on a simple efficient hair routine and the best time to do it is when a weekend is coming up and you just need to pamper yourself..
I hope you are ready because this is so easy, your mind will be blown!

BACK STORY
I had to get a hair cut because yes, relaxing my hair totally ruined it. So I chopped off the ends down to my nape to make it more manageable.
At first I really wasn't happy because the damage was insane!
Having dry skin and hair basically meant that my hair dries out after a day of treatment/ deep conditioning. It was utterly frustrating because oiling it didn't seem to work. my hair would be greasy but totally lacking in...something...and nothing my hair dresser said provided lasting results..so obvi. i did some digging and here is an easy 2 step routine..

WASH.
You need to be careful what kind of shampoo you use. I am always switching up shampoos but try and make sure it has no silicone as an ingredient..its no bueno contrary to popular belief. Silicone traps and suffocate your hair. That is not a price to pay for a shiny do.
Do not always use shampoo.
If you are the type to wash your hair more than once a week, switch up one wash with conditioner; OR bicarbonate soda.
I wash mine twice a week.
Once with shampoo; once with a tablespoon of bicarbonate soda or bicarbonate soda mixed with conditioner.
The Bicarbonate really really helps with dandruff btw. after two washes, you will not be complaining about dandruff and awkward scratching that ruins your hair.
Gently rubbing bicarbonate into your hair and scalp for a minute does the trick

DEEP CONDITION
And this is my favourite...
EVOO.
thats the secret.
One tablespoon of olive oil or coconut oil.
After you rinse off the shampoo/ bicarbonate, pat your hair dry and while its still abit wet, rub EVOO into your hair from ends to root.
This is because your scalp produces natural oils and your tips need the moisture from the oil more. One tablespoon should be enough. Just rub it in and take a breather for like 30 minutes.
This is usually my chance to have a bit of wine ;)
When you wash off the olive oil, your hair should NOT be greasy..if it is, you have used too much...you may condition it to get rid of the extra oil...how easy is that?

I have been doing this for a month now and my hair has never been happier. Happy Hair means Happy Lola.

Enjoy your weekends.

Love, me
Lola
