Remember when I started my other blog (here, there, and everything In between) I used to post a few recipes? well I might do abit of that here....
I have always had trouble with my hair. I bet all African girls say that, or anyone with fizzy wiry hair for that matter!
I looked around for a piece on how to take care of African hair...then had to put in 'if you live in africa' then 'in kenya' thats how bad it is. because it seems our sisters in the diaspora can go #naturalHair easy enough.. just stress it and voila...cute curly afros all over.
The trend is catching on in Kenya recently isn't it. Miss Karun the current ambassador for natural hair with the big messy but cute mop on her head.
I won't lie that it looks very tempting, but apart from the fact that I hate following trends and the cupcake already has her big Indian rebellious hair (no, really, you will feel her pain only when you keep her company for two hours at the hair dressers as they tackle that mass only for it to spring back up when it gets humid. and when is Mombasa ever not humid?) but my hair is as coarse and thin as they come. Its painful for me to keep natural hair. and its painful for me to braid because somehow I end up loosing more and more hair with every attempt at box braids, curly braids or just lines.
Relaxing hair is a no-no for our sisters abroad because well chemicals...but really, you can do so much with relaxed hair. its that versatile...
But do you need to do more than wash, condition and treat it?
Ill let you know ;)
Love,me
Lola
